Subject : Gender Sensitivity Programme for Women and Men Partnership

7th to 16th November 2001, Hong Kong

Dear Friends,

Warm greetings from WSCF AP, we hope this letter finds you in good health and spirit!

We would like to inform you of our Regional Women’s Programme, Gender Sensitivity Programme for Women and Men Partnership, to be held on 7th to 16th November 2001 in Hong Kong.

We strongly believe that this is a helpful programme for a better and clearer understanding of being gender sensitive and importantly, the essence of women and men partnership in the context of WSCF as well as in our own local SCM. The importance of partnership between women and men is a crucial element in our efforts to create a world of peace, justice and equality. All sessions in the programme are tailored to meet the essentials of gender sensitivity and partnership. Thus we urge all National Movements to give this programme attention and priority.

To facilitate an excellent learning process, we need a good balance of female and male participants. Hence we request that the National Movement to send in two (2) nominees, one female and one male, in order for us to make a clear choice for either one to participate in the programme. The deadline for registration is : 1st September 2001.

We also request that the potential male participant has to be open to the concept of gender sensitivity, women’s issues and a honest dialogue on women and men partnership.

We aim to make this programme engaging and useful for all participants so that they could make similar contributions back in their own movements, thus, we sincerely hope your movement will give this programme the much needed support.

Enclosed is a detailed description of the programme. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any clarification or more information.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
yock leng
regional women's coordinator
